Wichita, Kan. – The Kansas Department of Commerce and the Greater Wichita Partnership will lead a delegation of industry partners and local business leaders to the Farnborough International Airshow July 16 – 20 in Hampshire, England to promote Kansas and the greater Wichita region – known as the “Air Capital of the World” – and its capabilities to an audience of aviation decision makers from around the globe.
“Farnborough, the world’s largest aerospace airshow, provides the platform to market our State and attract aviation investment,” said Robert North, Interim Secretary of the Kansas Department of Commerce. “We must proactively and aggressively promote the opportunities in Kansas globally at events like Farnborough.”
The delegation will also promote the numerous resources Kansas and the “Air Capital of the World” supplies to the aerospace industry including the National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) and the National Center for Aviation Training (NCAT), as well as the leading brands that call the Air Capital home—Airbus, Bombardier Learjet, Spirit AeroSystems and Textron Aviation in addition to the region’s more than 450+ world-class suppliers.
